Dear Patients:

We hope you have had a pleasant Christmas and New Years. Our Christmas and New Years was quite busy in the office as we did some renovations. Those renovations are not quite complete but we hope that by the end of January we will be done. We appreciate your patience with us during this time and hope you enjoy what we have done.

On a happy note, we welcome Laura back this week from maternity leave and next week we will be welcoming back Habiba. Ashley will be continuing with us and we hope to see you all at your checkups.

All the best,

Dr. Ron Barzilay

Brush After Lunch

Look both ways before you cross the street, always hold an adults hand and brush your teeth after every meal were good pieces of advice when you were a kid. Well guess what, you should always look both ways, it's nice to hold someone's hand and you should still brush your teeth after every meal.

Make a habit out of keeping a tooth brush at the office and take a moment to clean your teeth after lunch, (your email can wait).

Are You Throwing Away the 'Best' Part?

We wanted to take a moment to offer new meaning to some old advice your parents used to offer; "Eat your fruits and veggies!"

Fruits and vegetables are a must-have in your diet. They are rich in fiber, minerals and vitamins, (usually) low in calories, and excellent energy sources.

Here's the twist. When your parents told you to 'eat your fruits and vegetables', they were referring to the sliced, skinned and prepared portion on your plate - we are referring to 'all of the fruit and vegetable', skins, tops and stems included.

Skins, tops and stems often have higher concentrations of nutrients than the fruits or vegetables themselves.
